Moms Demand Action with their Ads

These ads done by the group “Moms Demand Action” are interesting because they depict people holding military grade weapons in everyday settings such as grocery stores and schools. They have gained a lot of traction in 2014 and have caught the attention of many political leaders as well as parents and students all over the U.S., including me. I realize that the right to bear arms is in our constitution, but then again so is the right to vote, and we can’t do that until we are 18 years old so children should definitely not be able to carry assault weapons that have the ability to kill if they aren’t considered mature enough to vote for our next president. The ad also does a good job of portraying the grimness of the gun law situation in America by the color scheme of the advertisements. They are dull in saturation of the backdrop but the kids and their clothing plus the disproportionately large guns pop out making the ad eye-catching and intriguing. The group of passionate moms made me want to know more about their cause, so I’d say that they were successful in their mission to make people think about this pressing issue.
