Irrelevant Friday
People aren’t shopping on black Friday anymore because the deals are starting even earlier and don’t seem to end until December. The deals started “rolling out” in October around Halloween, and aren’t ending until it is literally Christmas. Also, why would someone wait out all night or wake up super early to get deals when they can just order them online and have the items delivered right to their doorstep? The answer is that people, this year especially, just aren’t. The prices are essentially the same online, and you get to sleep off the Turkey and take your own sweet time doing so. The whole idea of “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” really only appeals to those who don’t have the means to buy full priced items, and although they make up a good portion of our society, these people are becoming less enthralled by the idea of participating on said day. Instead of buying it on Friday, they are getting it on Wednesday, or right after dinner on Thursday. There is no more fighting that must go on, because there is no more Black Friday. It has become a season of sales, rather than one or two days.
